There is no caller sound audible in phone calls. Total silence. Doesn't matter who the caller is, or whether I receive a call or make one myself. I hear no sound.
This happens frequently enough that I can't rely on using my phone's main function: Making phone calls.
It will sometimes fix itself if I restart my phone, but will happen again sooner or later. Sometimes restart won't fixing it either. Clearing the phone app's cache is also useless. All software is up-to-date.
I can't believe this happens in a flagship "phone" in 22. I mean, after all, this is a "phone", and I'd expect it to work like one.
I appreciate if there is a permanent solution, and explanatation to why this is happening.

This issue has nothing to do with SIM card nor connection. It is most likely a software issue, some bug that interferes with the audio thread or the audio output when using the phone.

Hi,
I have the same issue in the UK. S22 bought directly from Samsung shop.
I get your point about faulty units and percentages. However, the low percentage should also mean quick warranty fixes or replacements.
Has anyone tried or had luck with getting a replacement?

I just ran into the issue once again, as I have more debugging option on the far end I checked behaviour there.
In regards to the problem the Phone App (plain GSM call only) seems to have issue with speaker & mic, according to my trace my S21+ is receiving audio (far end is sending) but not playing it to the speaker just dead air, also no audio is send or if it is send (not sure how much provider helps out) it is also just dead air, received packets if any are there look all like this:

But speaker and mic are just working fine meanwhile with other apps like Signal/Whatsapp.
Workaround: Restart phone fixes it
Haven't tested to force stop the app, yet to see if this might also fix it temporarily.
Also let me know technically on why this should be a problem with the SIM? either it is working or not, if it is a SIM problem you should be prompted for the SIM PIN as an indicator for a SIM read problem.
