My Verizon S22 updated today, One UI version 7.0, Android version 15, and now there are several things that apparently Samsung did to infuriate it's user base. Of course, this is not surprising to me, considering I paid $5000+ for a Samsung branded refrigerator that has a screen in it only for it to be rendered basically useless 5 years later, but I digress...
Does anyone know how to make this S22 look like it used to? Now on my lock screen, the clock is displaying only the hour, and then on a new line, under the hour, it shows the minutes of the hour.
Oh, and now I have to scroll through the apps list to find the settings app, instead of simply pressing the gear icon from the quick panel swipedown. Also, my carefully culled swipedown menus have disappeared - I no longer have instant toggles for things such as Airplane Mode, Bluetooth on/off, Wifi on/off, nor custom integrations such as SmartThings devices, etc.
It's like Samsung hired someone with an IQ of 60 to design this user interface for their latest version. Again, this doesn't surprise me, and will certainly be the last Samsung device I ever own, but it would be nice if someone from Samsung could tell us all how to overcome these latest "features".

For the lock screen and other issues, I don't think those are supposed to be like that. I've been using one ui 7 for months and have never seen them

Thanks, arianwen27 - that indeed solved the mystery of the disappearing quick panel stuff. That's typical Samsung programmer mess right there - the fact that there is absolutely no hints or cues in the UI to indicate that swiping down from one point at the top of the screen does something totally different than from a different point simply bolsters my opinion that a 3-year old wrote the UI. I see there's an equally non-intuitive setting from some icon of a writing instrument that one can eventually discover totally by accident that reverts the operation to what people would be used to doing. Heaven forbid we not put settings under that gear icon that everyone has grown accustomed to, but under a pencil icon which most of us with an S22 Ultra having to do with the little stylus shoved in the phone's bung hole, or perhaps something to do with "Edit".
Now if I could only divine how to change the appearance of the lock screen clock to something far less grotesque than hour digits with minute digits directly under.

Thanks again!
Yeah... words. They're terrible, especially when used in voluminous amounts so as to attempt to not incite misunderstandings or miscommunications.
Obviously, I really must start trying to think like a 3-year old when attempting to navigate my phone now. Thanks -so- much, Samsung UI engineers. We all really love having to guess at things!

I HATE THIS NEW UPDATE!! I despise the way everything looks now & its seriously ridiculous. Why would they change the look of everything? Like someone else said - if I wanted my phone to look like an apple phone then I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT AN APPLE PRODUCT! Change the look back please or give us a way to do it ourselves.

Oh and Samsung don't check here. So if you're just complaining, you're only going to be seen by other samsung owners

At the end of the day, android is just that and owned by Google who set the rules. Samsung add their own UI on top.
Start to wonder, given we have had a few new members in here suddenly rock up and moan whether there is a website or forum out there encouraging people to do so.

Whils there might be some similarities the experience with Samsung Devices is quite different. Not sure if you are familiar with Good Lock available from the Galaxy store, there are a number of customisations you can make even if you may not be able to achieve all your preferences. see some information herehttps://news.samsung.com/global/exploring-good-lock-%E2%91%A0-the-ultimate-personalization-tool-disc...
some of the changes due to the direction Google is taking Android though of course Samsung has their own software on top of that.
I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.
