New Battery Protection options

I in the May 2024 update to UI 6.1 added a new battery protection feature. Max charge up to 80% and a Basic charge to 100% then lets the battery go down to 95% before recharging again.

The max works fine. The basic does not work at all. Anyone else have this issue?

On basic battery protection, the phone fully charges to 100%, still plugged in and running power apps like Youtube videos, the battery never drops to even 99%. So basically the battery keeps charging to keep it at 100% when it is supposed to drop to 95%.

Clearing the cache does nothing. 

Letting the phone run youtube movies for over an hour to test this and it does not drop at all. Remove the plug, and the battery will start to drain after a few minutes.

I even got the June 2024 update and no fix.

Anyone have this problem. I have an S22 Ultra

I can see it stops charging once it reaches 100%

It doesn't drop below 100% once it stops charging

Actually, come to think of it, I never bothered using the phone while it still charging to see if battery will drop under 100%

Same here, I use basic too and it's always on 100 once charged whatever time of the morning I unplug it. Perhaps the battery percentage isn't completely accurate, I've noticed the last 50% drains quicker than the first

I charge my phone galaxy s23 ultra up to 85%

No solutions yet. No updates to my phone. Last update is dated June 1, 2024.  Seems to be hardly any info on the internet about the issue.

It stops charging once it reaches 100% and stays there not charging. As I charge overnight phone is not use with everything in low power mode. So, nothing to deplete the battery

Battery charge setup is just cr#p.

Had years a sony. 

Worked fine. Just time based options. 

It charged to 90% and made it 100% at a set time. Also with a starting time you wanted this option. Like activated when you plugged in after 10pm. And slowly charging to 90% and then topping of from 7:30 to 8:30 if set you want it to be full at 8:30.

So samsung. Please at a time based setup. Also with variable options like 90% instead of the 80%

It's randomly charging to 100% now. After a few months usage S24 it still not having a clue. And lately indeed it looks like it's doesn't discharge to 95% at all anymore. It did in the beginnen.

Did add Battery care settings to a routine setting (time based) . Sleep/do not disturb.

It stays on 80% till ending then goes back to the other setting. (adaptive)

Basic and adaptive battery protection not working. S25 Ultra. Original Samsung charger and cable. Feb 2025 UI update. Device Care app cache cleared. Cache partition wiped.
