My S22 Ultra refuses to update

The last update my phone downloaded was in May. Its refused to download any software update after that, including the one that just came out yesterday (8/30/22). I dont know if it matters but my carrier is US Cellular, phone bought from them.

Hi @DayumItsSam 

Although you might be better creating a post in the Samsung US forum here > https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Samsung-Community. for more responses from owners in your region.

I would suggest to ensure you have enough internal storage to accept the update and then also try Samsung Smartswitch.

Also try updating on mobile data or Wi-Fi to see if it completes on one or the other.

As long as your using the phone's settings , software updates section the phone should complete the update.

Try removing your sim card and if the phone is unlocked to all Network's then insert another networks sim card which may / may not help.

If using Samsung Smartswitch does not help either or as a very last resort back up and factory reset and then attempt the update , then you may need to go to a Samsung Service Centre.

Fully charge your phone before updating, if your battery runs out half way of installing new update 'firmware', you could brick your device

@DayumItsSam: Further to the above, please follow the link below, and click on 'How Do I Get Smart Switch On My PC or Mac' to download the relevant version.

Once installed, open Smart Switch, connect your Galaxy S22 to your PC/Mac using the USB cable that came packaged with the device, and look for an update prompt on the landing page, next to your device details.

Hello,

The fix for the issue is to do the software update via Samsung Smarth Switch. Please use the following procedure.

1. Download Smart Switch from : https://www.samsung.com/us/apps/smart-switch/

2. Connect your Phone using the USB cable supplied with the Phone ( use the genuine one )

3. Smart Switch will prompt for a software update being available for your phone.

4. If you wish, you can take a full backup of your phone before processing the update.

5. Update the phone using instructions as seen in the smart switch software. 

6. The phone update will work just fine using this method and you would be updated to the latest version of system update available.

Please try this method and let us know the results.

Hey there! I downloaded Smart switch both to my PC and phone and connected it to my PC. I'm not getting any prompts for any software update.

Please let me know what I should do

I'm having the exact same problem. my smart switch page looks like that as well. S22 ultra is refusing to update to One UI 6.1

I have the same problem, last update I had on my s22ultra was on 1st of November 2023, to One Ui 6.0.
