My S22 is unusable after 7.0 UI Update

After the recent June Update my phone will do the following:

  1. Constant UI Process not responding error
  2. [Insert App name] not responding error
  3. Stuttering lag, will randomly perform the action after 30 seconds to 1 minute
  4. Phone will Freeze and turn off
  5. Boot loop ( phone is completely dark in the loop). I know its happenings as i need to time the power button/ volume down button by luck to turn the phone back on.

I've tried the following to fix and nothing has worked

  1. Changed hz from 120 to 60
  2. Turned off Ram Plus
  3. Turned off Wifi
  4. Factory Reset entire phone / spent hours recovering apps
  5. Partition Cache clearing

My phone is not usable and I've had to resort to using an old phone as an emergency backup. What can I do here? Its a bit ridiculous to release an update that will brick your phone. Extremely frustrated, I've owned Samsung phones my entire life including purchasing them for my entire family, wife, mother, father, etc.... This makes me want to switch to an Apple phone....

Help please!!!!!

Seems you've tried most things. But there is one thing you've not tried yet.

Using a pc and the smart switch software, you can fully wipe and reinstall android onto the phone. Any software issues should be removed and a fresh android put onto the device.

Google should give detailed steps for you but to be brief, get to recovery menu, put phone in download mode, connect to pc, get to the emergency recovery menu, follow the steps. It should fully wipe everything and put every file back itself.

It's really rare this happens. If doing this doesn't fix it, I kinda have no ideas left

Hi @Arkiteko

I am sorry to hear that you are having so many issues. It is very annoying when this happens.

I assume that the order on the troubleshoot list is not chronological. If it is, I would have done the clearing of cache partition before factory reset.

How did you restore the phone when you did the factory reset? Did you use Smart Switch? I usually advice to restore it manually. Of course, factory reset is my very last resort. I seriously dislike to use the nuclear option.

One other thing that you might try is booting the phone in safe mode:

https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-start-my-galaxy-device-in-safe-mode/

If the problem is an app, the phone should be able to work. If that is the case, then you might need to check which is the App causing the problem.

Finally, you could take it to a Samsung repair shop.

All the best.

Hey. This is 100% a Samsung issue. My S22 ultra, mint condition, never dropped. Immensely looked after.

I hit all the same problems last week (Wednesday/ Thursday). Phone is unusable and Samsung support have told me I'm the only one experiencing this. They've not had any cases logged that matches this problem. These community messages clearly show the opposite

I'm having the same problem since the update, I can't even get to reset it to factory settings because every time I restart it to get there either the boot looping starts again or the button combo needed simply doesn't work.
