It's rare for a software update thats been updated vja the phone's settings to affect the gallery @JainaA
If they have definitely 💯 % been deleted then you can get them back as long as you have already set up OneDrive to automatically back up your photo's or use another option such as Dropbox etc.
If you dodnt back up to a vault then unfortunately if they have definitely been wiped your pictures are most probably lost.
