I've used my s22 ultra for 2 days and I've found the following faults compared to my old s20 plus

Bottom speaker crackles with certain ringtones
Emulated java games don't run properly
After 15 mins of talk time it sounds like your caller is under water
Phone is laggy at opening apps
Games aren't as colorful as the s20 plus
Sound is quiet even on full
My conclusion is to sell it as it doesn't even compare to my s20 plus

That's a shame @weskerevil and I appreciate your experience with the phone.

If you've only had it 2 days you should be able to return it within any relevant cooling off period so your not out of pocket.

Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

I'm coming from a S21 Ultra, had the S20 Ultra before but I'm enjoying the S22 Ultra so far, received it 3 or 4 days ago and so far no bugs. Might be a placebo effect, or perhaps the fact that the phone has everything freshly installed, but this S22U feels better than my S21U.

Totally agree. I'm on the EU version and I've had issues with:

  • Chrome browser getting incredibly laggy on long pages
  • Screen judder and tearing in FDH
  • GPS simply not working at all
  • Launching apps has significant lag
  • FaceID not working, then telling me not to wear my glasses to improve recognition
  • Fingerprint reader missing every 5th time
  • The battery is at 84% after 1 hour of playing an audiobook over Bluetooth - my Huawei was at about 98% or 97% after my commute.

This is my first Samsung, coming over from a Huawei P20 Pro (at least 3, maybe 4 years old?) - how can a nearly vintage phone work, but a brand new flagship be so badly engineered?

Edit: Just got an email chasing me for the Trade In phone, but they haven't sent the Return Pack. So I click the link, and they even put a valid Hyperlink in their emails!?

Gotta say, this has soured my opinion on Samsung in a serious way.
