Is factory reset and clear installation wort a try?

Hello all,

I just wander if a clear installation is really worth a try. I face overheating sometimes and few lags here or there, bluetooth disconnects sometimes and the phone does not seem so smooth overall. But nothing terrible. Battery life is also ok, 6hrs SOT (WQHD+, 120Hz). I have 128GB Exynos version and I used SmartSwitch. Thanks for any suggestions.

I'd say no but I've not faced many issues with my phone. Where I have I've resolved through reinstalling or updating an app, unpairing and then pairing againwith the Bluetooth item. Not yet come across any overheating issues.

I find wiping the cache partition is just as effective and doing a full factory reset....and it only takes a couple of seconds to do

Try what rogersdave77 suggests first and if that doesn't help then go for it since you took a smartswitch backup of your important stuff.

I think it's worth a factory reset, and install apps not using smartswitch.

I have tried wiping cache partition, but it was before the 1st update and it did not help. Maybe I will try it one more time.

Thanks all of you. I just want to add that it is very strange, because sometime the phone is buttery smooth and then suddenly out of nowhere overheats and slows down. Then after few minutes it is okey again... sometime while browsing it overheats quite a lot, and it is a simple task. On the other hand while playing CoD mobile, no overheating and no lags. Very strange from my poit of view.

Before the 1st updateI was not able to use WQHD+ and 120Hz because the device was basicly unusable sometimes. It was freezing like crazy. But then the update fix it, although it is not perfect still.

That is why I am thinking of factory reset and not using SmartSwitch at all.

Social media apps with endless scrolling will heat the phone especially of there is not a good Internet connection.

Also keep checking for app updates in both stores every week.

I check for updates almost every day, so all my apps are updated to the most recent version. Plus, I have very good internet connection at home, 5G or 4G full signal and Wi-Fi too.
