I disabled Grammarly but when I do, it gets rid of any spell check feature. Is there a way to disable Grammarly and keep the red underlining for spell check? I refuse to use auto replace. I want my spelling to be checked and thats it.

As far as I'm aware that's what is available to use right now @Renny22
I also disabled Grammarly too. It wasn't for me.

Launch your keyboard in messages.
Tap on the cog wheel for settings.
Select third party content to use.
Toggle Off Grammarly.
You may then also need to reset your keyboard back to default as I did @Yphfeaqatchuqu
