hi I have an s22 ultra that I've had for a bit. this morning my phone now has a bright white horizontal light on the front screen like a torch. it is identical to this image. The only thing that has changed is a software update I installed.

Bit of an update on this, I did some further looking up in to the issue, I found allot of people having the same issue. I found a reddit post from a year ago saying to change the motion smoothness to 60hz which got rid of the bright white light. Now it only appears for a second when I lock and unlock the screen, so at least I can use it for a bit but its clearly a screen defect that is manufacturer fault. I am talking with customer service on twitter who are trying to say I may be charged for a screen replacement and technician inspection as the phone is out of warranty. I am trying to push back against this as its clearly a manufacturers issue. still waiting for a response to that though.

Another update and likely the final. Got a response from Samsung. They insist on the charge, which fair enough it's out of warranty, however they are unable to tell me what the cost for an inspection of the device will be. They want me to arrange to send the device to them and then they charge me an amount determined by the engineer. This could be any amount and they are not giving me even a ballpark of what I should be budgeting for. Disappointing, looks like I will have to buy a new phone from someone else.

same issue for my s22 ultra too happened on 30 nov 2024. This happened after updating my mobile 2 days back. Samsung support asked me to take to Service center. Will update once what they reply.

What *****!!!! They should pay for this. It happened to my S22 Ultra as well...
I´m so disappointed. I am following all the Notes and Ultras for long time. First time a I have a problem. So it should be a class action...
