Double tap to wake-up - slow (s22)

The double-tap on the screen when the phone is resting is rather slow. I would expect an instant response (light-up of the screen). However, it takes half a second to do it. It may not sound like a lot. Maybe i was getting used to it, until i was passing next to my friend's A52s and for fun i did the double-tap. That was instant!

I tried it several times afterwards. Also both phones at the same time and there is obviously a lag for the S22. It's pretty frustrating as A52s is also a Samsung phone but 500$ cheaper! and it works faster than the s22 "flagship".

Maybe this can be fixed as i am quite sure it's just a software issue.

I am a happy returner of this phone. It was just too buggy for me and for a flagship it was very disappointed.

I am already frustrated enough that i had to fix so many issues, audio lag, video delay, etc. Now i have 500eur back in my pocket and also a cheaper phone that really works.

I find it pretty fast on the S22 ultra, just now. However, I've noticed similar behaviour. I have had to repeat the double-tap. I am doubting myself now, I tried again and it is pretty instantaneous.

Do you have the latest firmware updates?

If I do it one try after another, it is pretty instantaneous. However, if I take a break or just use it as I would normally use in a real life situation I can feel this lag. Especially during night if I wake up and want to check it.  Maybe it has to do with the battery optimization/stand by mode of the apps. It takes a fraction to wake up.

Anyway,  on the a52s this is definitely not happening.  That's what actually triggered me... the comparison.

Same here. Sometimes I have to tap it 4 or 6 times as well. It's twice as slow as my s20 was

Testing with my S10 and new S22 Ultra, and the S10 is a good 1/8-1/4 second faster every time which is a bit... embarrassing.

I changed from a s10+ to s22 ultra. The lag is very irritating on the ultra. The plus had no issue. Also, face recognition is not working. Another flaw.

I am having the same issue along with several others.  Extremely irritating.  I upgraded from an old LG V40 thinq and have taken a significant step back. There are more glitches with this phone than I've had for years.
