Can't boot into recovery mode on s22 ultra?

Phone is laggy and buggy. I did smart switch and have too much on the phone to consider any other option (it still took me most of a day to sign into and set back up all the apps which didn't carry over login information - which was most of them - I do not want to have to do this again).
I saw on here someone somewhere suggesting clearing the cache partition, which requires booting into recovery mode, however my phone won't?,

I've tried:
-powering off then powering on holding the side key and volume up, letting go upon the samsung logo and knox coming up
-as above except not letting go until it vibrates for a second time while showing the samsung logo during boot.
- same as above 2 instances but only releasing the side key (i.e keeping hold of volume up).
- keeping the buttons held the entire time right through boot
- holding all 3 buttons
- volume DOWN and side key (powers on and off repeatedly while doing so).
-both with charging cable plugged in and without
-changing side key settings from Bixby wake to Power off

My phone just boots 'normally' (which for me is a case of it booting, but being slow and lagging etc and not populating app menu for first 15 seconds or so. (Not a problem on my note 9 so not sure why on s22 ultra)

To get to Wipe Cache Partition you have to do 1 of 2 things ...1 plug in earphones and do what you did before or 2 plug charging cable in to computer/ laptop and connect to your phone and do what you did before ...that's only way to get to recovery mode will not work with charger cable in with out it connected to a computer and phone you used to be able to get to Wipe Cache Partition before just with phone and pressing buttons but now you have to do 1 of them 2 things to get to it

Clearing the cache partition did not solve my problems.

@Bobby2Kills - I wish you had posted this topic 3 days ago before I sent my S22U for replacement.

I've done the factory reset through setting and I wanted to do factory reset/wipe data in the recovery mood (double sure that my data will be cleared). However, no matter how many times I've tried, the phone just kept starting up to the initial phone setup screen.

I hope the factor reset through setting is safe enough to wipe off all my data in the phone.

I won't get chance until next week as I'm away atm, but will report back. Tbh changing the processor mode to maximum has helped (i.e. the one that says it drains battery and can cause heating 🤣).
