Display Issue After One UI 6.1 Update on Samsung Galaxy S22

I recently updated my Samsung Galaxy S22 5G to One UI 6.1 (Android 14) on March 8, 2025, and after the update, I noticed a vertical pink line appearing on my display. My device has not been dropped, physically damaged, or exposed to water.

Here are the details of my last update:

  • One UI version: 6.1
  • Android version: 14
  • Software version: S9010ZHS8EYA5 / S9010OZS8EYA5 / S9010ZCS8EYA5
  • Update size: 428.29 MB
  • Security patch level: February 1, 2025

Since the issue started immediately after the update, I believe it might be a software-related problem. I have already tried troubleshooting steps like restarting the device, booting into safe mode, and running a display test (*#0*#), but the issue persists.

I purchased my phone in Sri Lanka, but I am currently in the UK. I would like to know:

  • Is this issue covered under warranty or any extended repair program?
  • Are there any software fixes or upcoming updates addressing this issue.
  • Is there any other ways to solve this issue.

Looking forward to your response.

Hi,
Extended warranty is directly based on what cover plan you purchased and this includes the duration. Please check with the place of purchase or read your cover plan/ Extended warranty document.

Give Samsung a call to see if they have any know issue with this. I've see older models with the pink line from top to bottom usually on the right side of the device however, I've never had to experience this and I definitely do not wish to. Not sure the line is a software issue either but that's just a assumption.

Hey there and welcome to the Samsung UK and EU Community Customer to Customer Forum

I'm sorry to hear of your issues.

As you bought the device in Sri Lanka, you would have to check the warranty available in that country.

I suspect your device will be out of warranty so you'll need to contact Samsung Customer Services to how much the repair may cost.

You need to have your device inspected but your looking to have to have the screen replaced along with the ribbon cable and normally Samsung would replace the battery too. This is a known problem that occurs from time to time.

@shiyam: I am sorry to hear that you have encountered this issue with your Galaxy S22 5G, and that your efforts to troubleshoot the problem have not been successful. Please note that our warranty is regional, therefore it is only valid in the country/region where the phone was purchased, or intended to be used. It is also sadly not eligible for our international warranty process, as this is only valid for devices released after 01/01/2023.

While I understand that it is not ideal, if you have any friends or family in Sri Lanka, you may wish to send the phone to them, and request that they arrange an inspection with an authorised Samsung engineer on your behalf. I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you.
