Data won't work abroad, cannot find signal etc

My phone can't find pick up Vodafone signal and data roaming not working, says cannot find provider

Do you have roaming turned on?

Do you have a roaming package with Vodafone?

If no roaming package, is your spend limit set to £0?

Yes data roaming turned on, yes I have a package

Can others get a signal in where you are? Under settings/connections/mobile networks / network operators turn off automatic selection

Has Vodafone sent the settings to your phone?

My partner has Vodafone, see called them to have a package for abroad as we were going on holiday. We went on holiday and like you she couldn't make calls etc. On return she requested a refund from Vodafone, they are meant to send a text or something to your phone to allow it to work abroad. I would speak with Vodafone about this, she also uses a Samsung phone in case you were wondering, I'm with EE and have never had any problems with them.
