So, after waiting over 7 weeks for a phone (S22+) that has never materialised I jumped ship and went for one from John Lewis when some limited stock appeared there, and cancelled my order with Samsung. I felt that using John Lewis would be fine as I would still get the Galaxy buds (claim submitted and accepted) and "up to" £100 extra on top of the trade-in value.
I was wary about this and knew that the trade-in value might not match the one given direct with Samsung. What I did not expect was to be given £0 extra on top of the trade-in value, so they will give me £180 in total. This is after answering all the questions in the affirmative, i.e. that the phone is in good condition and full working order, which it is.
What's worse is that you can't get any explanation for why the promised bonus is not given at all. I have emailed them using their form, but so far no reply after 2 days. There is a "Live Chat" option but it does not work on any browser or device that I have tried.
So, yet again, Samsung come up short on their promises, so I will probably just have to sell the old one on a certain auction site or similar. It just astonishes me how bad Samsung are. Their devices are great - I am enjoying the new phone - but their customer handling is absolutely rubbish. And I know it's probably not John Lewis's fault (although they are advertising these things with these offers and benefitting from the sales) but I have also complained to them as I am disappointed that a good company like JL are associated with spurious offers like this.

Just so im clear on your situation........Was this a Trade In that John Lewis offered @alexmidd ?
Or are they adding in a Samsung redemption offer from what I can see from the John Lewis page.
You may get a better return with selling the phone privately to be honest.
Be wary if selling on auction sites however.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
