The phone will automatically disable (delete) apps that you have not used in awhile. It used to be possible to change a setting under battery maintencence to remove this feature, but with some update they have removed it.
Why? Do they not trust us to know which apps we want to keep and which we want to use? Its frustrating to look for an app and then see it has been removed, especially if you are in a place with poor internet. Please add this setting again Samsung.
And no, this is not "put to sleep". There you still have the app installed.

OK... I have figured this out for those who DON'T KNOW already... works on both tabs and Phone...
Settings
"Device care".... OR "Battery Device care"
select the Battery option where it shows countound left
THEN select "Background Usage Limits"
DE-Select "Put unused apps to sleep"
THEN go into EACH of the 2 options "Sleeping Apps" and "Deep sleeping Apps"
HOLD your finger down on ONE of the apps listed there and at the top of screen click "ALL" this will select all the pps in the list respectively
and THEN click "REMOVE"
THEN Go to the "Never auto sleeping apps" section and again click add + on the top right section of screen and ADD then select ALL option (top left) and add all your apps to the "Never auto sleeping apps" section.
that's IT... when you've done all that exit it all and then launch the google app store and go to your app update section it will show ALL your apps to be updated... and keep them updated all the time
vice versa IF you DON'T want an app to be updated then you might want to ADD that specific app to the list "Sleeping Apps" and "Deep sleeping Apps" mentioned.
