I'm from a Law enforcement DF background. A network provider can block an handset - initially on their network and then a cross network IMEI block across all networks within 24hrs. Because it was purchased SIM free then that's probably why they are unwilling to do it (ie. It's not their handset). A police force can also register the handset as been stolen but I know alot of officers would fail to actually do it - they can do it through the NMPR register which forces have access to, so if you speak to police again then quote the NMPR!

What you can do is sign up to the Immobilise site https://www.immobilise.com/
On here you can register the handset, its IMEI / Serial number, and then report it as stolen (and give information about it, like a police crime reference). Once it is reported as lost / stolen then this information propagates onto the police NMPR register, networks, and also the CheckMend register so if anyone tries to sell it through a place like cash converters, CEX etc then when the shop does a checkmend search it will flag up as a reported lost/stolen handset.

Hi @Tauqeer

It's certainly conceivable Samsung can but it maybe a case of speaking to an agent who has more knowledge on how to do this.

In the UK I usually email the Samsung Online Shop Team if I need help via support@samsunguk.zendesk.com I wish you all the best.  :smiling-face:

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

Asked police about NMPR but thdy said you have to register on NMPR and when i went to the website which basically tells you to register it as stolen on immobiliser.

No no one in the Samsung seems to no how to block and response that i got from the Samsung Zen desk tema is once the order ia fulfilled it is not in our control to do anything as you have sold the phone to some one else.I am asking a simple thing but no one seems to care about frauds and that is why these fraudster are raoming around freely and doing frauds everyday.

@Tauqeer

Depending on what route you used to sell the phone to someone else does that platform have anything in place to help with getting the funds back ?

I think it maybe a lost cause in getting the phone blocked at this stage unfortunately.
