Battery life with Exynos

I recently got my S22 Ultra and the battery seems to be dropping very quick. For example, after unplugging it from the charger, after a couple of minutes the battery drops to 98%, and then almost immediately to 95%.  Also, currently the battery is at 79% with only 48mins of screen on time - for my usage this is very low.

It's seems to me that with only minimal usage, the battery is dropping much faster that expected. I have the Exynos model, in the UK and the screen is set to FHD+, adaptive.

This is the second day of using the phone and I am already thinking of doing a factory reset, and start fresh, rather that transfering data fromy old Samsung device. Is this a real issue with the phone, or simply my experience?

No two phones run exactly the same apps AD112233 and no two phone users have the same usage patterns so don't worry that your experience differs from that of SPUDWOLF. No two optimization periods will be the same either especially if you change usage patterns often. The 5000 Mah battery on my S21 Ultra was going bananas for it's first week. I remember it dropping from 100% to 17% when simply left overnight once but I sit here now one year later and it's battery performance is simply brilliant now that it knows me and my routines.. 9 to 10 hours screen time and only falling from 100% to 96% over my eight hour night.. Just enjoy your new S22 Ultra and use it is you want to use it and rest assured that your battery will look after itself as it continues to learn about you.

You shouldn't need to turn anything off to stop battery getting flat.
You paid a premium price for a phone
, its like buying a Bentley and you can't use the lights at night, or the radio and your mates have to push the car to start it.

Samsung needs to sort this out before rushing phones out.

still on january firmware but battery is most worse i have experienced from all mobiles. it literally drains for your eyes 👀 especially on 4g and 5g ( 5g does not work wel on t mobile network, no issues with other phones on same network like iphone 13 . )  5 hrs Sot with total 16 hrs active. no email no app installed ( disabled) no samsung apps installed . full reset ( recovery menu) . most apps fully suspended.

it is not slow, good results geekbench no display issues etc

very strange ( i don’t feel any current when holding phone 😃😄)

still no update received…although i don’t think this will solve issue

That is a very good point. It's just that I was expecting something more solid, even from day 1 to be honest. I'll keep an eye and hopefully things will improve

That Bentley would soon empty a tank full of petrol if you drove it hard. Same as a phone battery.

Hi.

It's normal for the phone to drop 100 - 95% and even 5%- 0%
Don't worry about it.
It's just the way it's designed.

Just use your phone as normal for a week so that it can learn your usage.
Resetting is just a waste of Time.

You can look up videos on battery saving tips.

Best is using Dark mode.
Permissions manager for location and stuff.
Etc.

I would even suggest just use it on full wqhd and 120hz adaptive refresh rate.

Keep everything auto or Adaptive and you should be fine.

Just enjoy your phone.

It will settle over time with updates and stuff.
If not always come back here.

My battery isn't amazing, but remember its a new phone and it takes a week or more to learn your usage patterns etc...

Update due shortly and this i would imagine will help with battery as all new phones have some battery draining issues on first release.

S22 Ultra day 5, full charge only expected to last 14h 38m with average use. That's pretty poor IMHO!

I had terrible battery life for the first few days but now it's on par with my s21 ultra ..with more optimization I hope it could be even better with the future updates...note I have 2 sim cards activated Bluetooth and Wi-Fi always on and few hours 5g today.
