4.5.24 Samsung Update Deleted Most Gallery Pics

This is the second time this  has happened. Samsung updated 4.5.24, and now almost all my gallery pictures are gone. 

I read past forums from clearing the Gallery's cache, restarting phone, Samsung files... can't restore any pics. Only 16 random pics remain and 7 albums. Help. So ticked.

Is your gallery syncing with Microsoft OneDrive? If so you should be able to see all your photos in there. If you've physically deleted your photos from the gallery, there's still a chance they'll be in the OneDrive trash bin, however there is a time limit before the bin gets emptied and they're gone forever.

Have you not backed up your pictures? I would suggest you do, rely on them just being on your phone is a risk as you found out.

Software crashes, phones get broken or stolen

I would suggest backing them up, Onedrive, Google photos or Amazon PRIME have unlimited back up too or get a NAS with backup capability, the choices are endless

Yesterday the photos in my gallery started showing up as exclamation marks instead of pictures.  I restarted my phone and when I opened my gallery everything is gone, every picture, every video and I have no idea why.  Today I noticed all my music is completely gone too!  I've tried all the trouble shooting things you listed above as well and nothing.  It's not showing anything in my files or in my internal storage.  I'm so upset right now!  Some of my photos were available in Google Photos but my storage was full and stopped backing up unless you pay for it, so I'm missing so many precious memories.
