Hi,

Has anyone experienced anything like this?

image

I've had the phone for a week and haven't used the camera much yet. Yesterday, I did use it a bit and one if the pics came out like this with a transparent bar across the bottom.

Does this look like a hardware or software problem?

Pictures taken before and after didn't have anything like this but I am obviously a bit concerned to see something like this in my new device.

I am sure EachUisge that the issue in the picture was nothing but an early processing glitch and nothing to worry about and just a bedding in issue as your camera is new. The more you use your camera now the more it will learn and the better your results will be. When my S21 Ultra's camera was new it got so hot that I only used it sparingly at first and there was a focus problem in 108MP mode but I just tapped on the screen for spot focus and exposure in this mode and showed it how to focus so that when back in auto mode there were no problems. Four months down the line my phone blitzes through combined video and photo sessions giving me brilliant results that genuinely bring a smile to my face on occasions. All this and it never gets more than warm now. All this because I used it often from day one and didn't panic over any early issues.
You have a brilliant camera in your possession now EachUisge. It may have to learn things and need a little tlc at first but it will repay you richly if you keep it busy and just experiment with it and learn what it can do. There are lots of videos on YouTube and the like to guide you and help you through all stages of using your new camera from early tips to mastery of Pro Mode should you want to take it this far. I hope you really enjoy your new camera!. Keep a look out also for new camera features being added after software updates as Samsung won't stand still with it's development and will seek to constantly improve it's performance as any top manufacturer should do. Best to wipe the cache partition after every software update too so that you get the most out of them and keep them glitch free. Have fun EachUisge!. 👍👍

Thanks for that detailed reply. I have been using the camera today and I have not been able to replicate the issue. On reflection it does look like a processing glitch and not a hardware problem. I had wondered if it was a common issue but apparently not. As you say, it's getting bedded in so hopefully I won't see it again. It does seem like an amazing camera and I look forward to learning how to make the most of it.
