I tried Grammarly which was introduced after a recent update and it seemed.to send my Samsung Keyboard haywire so I reset it and toggled off Grammarly.
Try SwiftKey or gBoard 😎

@BilgeRat: Please head to Settings > General Management > Samsung Keyboard Settings > Auto Spell Check > Toggle on the relevant language e.g. English (UK). This feature will underline misspelled words in red, and suggest corrections.
