Seems to me like a faulty USB-C port. Have you tried a different headset ? Does it do the same ?

Then , it must be the port. Any warranty left ?
Personally, i prefer Bluetooth earphones/ headphones. It's easier. No more cables

I thought as much, i have insurance so will get a replacement handset, i use headphones for pronlonged periods sometimes, bluetooth ones on a full charge only tend to last around 6 hours.

Id imagine there would be more issues with ports if people used wired headphones more often though.

The Bluetooth earphones i use last around 8 hours on a single charge. Sony WI-XB400 . Pretty decent .

I was facing same issue in samsung a30s....I solved this problem by simply turning off cell phone and battery level was 15% and charged it whole night about 8 hours during that i didn't turn on my cell phone....finally problem fixed
