Hi,
Has anyone noticed the edge of the screen slightly raised and rough to the touch?
Even the hole for the front camera feels slightly jagged, as opposed to my S8 which was completely smooth
There is a faint line around the edge of the screen approx just less than 1mm thick
Can I assume its down to poor build quality?
Thanks

This is your factory applied screen protector. Under it, the display is as smooth as your S8.

Yes a factory fitted screen protector can be removed as it's a plastic tpu version @MarkA
Using your nail will lift it and then peel it off.
However this will leave the phone's display unprotected so consider a new one or a glass version such as a Whitestone Dome Glass Screen Protector.

Ive never felt the need for a screen protector as I keep my phone in a wallet and I'm not one of those who walk around with a phone constantly glued to their hand/ear
But I'm thinking of getting one fory old S8 which I dont have a walket for...do they protect against heavier knocks etc, not just scratches and scrapes?

I fit one to keep those micro scratches at bay.
Also in my line of work the extra protection is welcomed.
My phone is in an official Samsung Black Leather Back Case and when not in use in a PdAir Vertical Holster.
