HDR10+ Galaxy S20 FE

According to the device specs, the S20 FE display supports HDR10+, but it doesn't work on HDR supported YouTube videos. Is there a setting to turn HDR on somewhere? Shouldn't it be automatic on supported video?

@Maxvax: The Galaxy S20 FE can record videos in HDR10+ by opening the Camera app > Tap the cog symbol > Advanced Recording Options > HDR10+ Video > On. This specification is unfortunately not related to HDR supported YouTube videos.

HDR and HDR10+are completely different things. HDR is for HD media HDR10+ upscale SD media. The phone doesn't support HDR. Does that answer your question?

HDR10+ is a video format. If the source file is encoded with HDR10+, it should work if this display supports it. I have read several reviews saying this screen supports it, but unless there is a setting somewhere, it's not working with HDR content

Correct, it will work with HDR10+ but Youtube is in HDR so, unsupported.

Now I'm reading it only supports HDR10, as does my S9+. I've watched the same HDR video on YouTube, HDR working fine on the S9+, showing in SDR on the S20 FE.

OK I didn't have YT on my phone. I hate its cluttered look. Tried an HDR video and it DID work. Try uninstalling and reinstalling. Tested on S21 Ultra. Seems HDR is a recent addition to YT.

HDR has been on YT for a few years now. I'll test Netflix later and see if that's any different

hdr et hdr10+ sont totalement liés et non differents.

hdr10+ est un format hdr dit "dynamique" c est tout.

et si un peripherique prend en charge hdr+ il prend obligatoirement et  automatiquement en charge hdr!

d ailleurs un peripherique prenant pas en charge hdr10+ peu lire une video hdr10+ mais il sera lu en hdr10 (hdr basique sans metadonees dynamiques).

exactement la meme chose avec le dolby vision d ailleurs qui est un autre format hdr dynamique concurrent du hdr10+ (encodé en 12bit et moins automatisé au niveau des metadonnées, la production et realisateurs seraient plus impliqués manuellement pour gerer les metadonnées contrairement au hdr10+)

youtube est souvent en hlg c est peu etre ce type de format hdr que le s20fe ne prend pas en charge (un format hdr hybride)
