Why on Earth, if the alarm is set for 5am, would my Note 9 shut off to do an update? Luckily I randomly woke up with enough time to get to work!! Does shutting off "Auto Download Over Wifi" stop automatic updates???
This has to be the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. What's the point of setting an alarm if the phone is going to just shut off?!?! It seems like a lot of people have had this happen, Android REALLY needs to address this .

I personally prefer to not have the download automatically over Wi-Fi turned On @Cmikolay324 as I prefer to manually check for updates.
It does appear not helpful that a phone would circumvent an alarm to update itself but I suppose the phone considers that takes priority.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

Same issue and I can’t seem to understand why Samsung hasn’t fixed this yet?! (Happened to me this morning as a matter of fact). This has been a problem since 2014 on my S6, my S22, and now my S25.
Heres a solution Samsung: put an auto restart at the end of the coding that allows the phone to restart on its own without your clients waking up the phone. The fact the phone is waiting on something like me double-tapping the screen to see what time it is to trigger the end of the update is plain dumb. And the fact no one has sought to fix this with an easy solution is mind-boggling.
