My new Note10+ cracked on its own sitting upright on a table while I was watching TV. I was shocked when I picked it up and saw the damage. Just below the power button the cracks go gol the same at across the screen. When I checked around the web I see that others have had the same issue and it happened in the exact same place. I sent it in.. Samsung sees cracks and automatically it's deemed physical damage. They won't cover it. I got a bill for $400. A phone I've never scratched let alone dropped bumped or crushed. I called FutureTel back (Samsung Canada repair) and they claim their internal team are investigating the issue. We all know they're not going to acknowledge this. Very unfair. I paid $2000 for the phone.. now I have to pay $400 for a faulty screen.

Yes I've seen recent posts here on this forum and on other forums in connection to similar owners experiences.
I've no idea how this is occurring on some peoples phones and not with others @ChrisNunn
Some think it's a manufacturing defect on done phones or due to the curved edges on the screen.
I've had my Note 10+ 5G since launch date with no issues.
The problem is being absent prove the damage occurred from a defect and not accidental.
I live in the UK and as such have Home Contents Insurance covering my phone to which I would have to pay a small excess fee to get a new phone.
Obviously insurances are at a persons own choice.
Please let us know if you hear anything new from the internal team you mentioned.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

Wow! This is late, but this just happened to my Note 10+ two days ago. I saw it on the wireless charger and the screen was cracked right at the power button. The screen was no longer usable. It was just laying there, no impact made to it. Luckily, I have it insured through my carrier, but I still have to pay the $29 fee. What is also strange is my son's S20 FE screen just stopped working the day after. I have a feeling it has something to do with the software, but who knows.

Exact same thing with my A42 5g. I had it for 8 days, never had a samsung phone before and it took me about 5 days to set it up. I was at work with one other coworker, I placed the phone down (did not drop or toss) as Im looking away, I notice what looked like dust on the phone so I picked it up. It was cracked top to bottom with pieces of glass out of the screen and it was off. Me and my coworker were absolutely stunned, she was on the other side of me or I would have thought she hit it with a hammer. I just paid $400 for this thing to explode on its own, I wanted to cry. It had an otterbox since day 1. Ive told multiple people from verizon and samsung and the only response I get is, "Well do you have insurance?"

Been awhile. After my nightmare customer service experience with Samsung re: Note10+ cracking on its own.. twice. (Replacment.. same exact crack..) I went with the S20 Ultra. Majorly defective camera. It. Sucked. I finally was rid of it and got a Fold3. I love it but.. the paint came off day 2. Black model. It looks years old. Also the phone made contact with hardwood floor by sliding out of my pocket. It slid about 2-3 centimeters. The camera shattered to dust. Insurance is an absolute must for any samsung product. They refuse to help customers and refuse to come good for their products. 400 insurance deductible is better than 3000 to replace the phone. Painful stuff.

Same problem happened with my s23 ultra yesterday. I was using my phone in landscape mode watching a video while charging and the screen started to crack from below the power button in a web design and a green line appeared on my display. And ofcourse there is no help by samsung now I'll have to pay ₹22000 for their manufacturing defect and this sucks will never buy a samsung flagship again. I had OnePlus 8 pro before this and I got the green line issue atleast they acknowledged it and repaired it for free

This has JUST happened to my Note 8. Similar story, but a little different, it sits inside a drawer when it’s not being used.
Picked it up to take photos of something, then used it for a little bit and had it rest on the couch. Afterwards i felt broken glass on my thumb and that’s when i realized.
It’s pretty hard to see, but once you see it it’s there forever. I know mine is an older model but it shouldn’t happen no matter how old it is.
This isn’t the first time i’ve experienced this, i’ve had the same thing happen with a J3 2017 and A3 2016 (I own many phones lol)
