Hi all,
I am having issues with the sound on my Note 10+.
I first discovered it when watching a movie on Netflix, original Samsung AKG headphones were connected and there wasnt any sound coming. I tried to increase the volume by using the phone volume buttons and on the screen I saw In Call Volume increasing, not the Media one.. even though I go to the settings to increase Media one specifically it didnt change anything.
Then i had to restart my phone and it was back to normal.
Then the next day I realised my alarm sound is not working, it only beeps. Then I checked the selected sound, it was same as before (which is not just a beep). Then I tried to go into the alarm sound selection and clicked on one of them, it gave me an error saying something like it cannot be changed or ring while on call.
So it seems like my Note 10+ often thinks that it is having a call at that moment.
Not sure if it is a device/hardware or software issue. But thinking to return and get a replacement as it is a big deal for that expensive phone.
Also as a side note, I am not using any screen protectors. I still have the preinstalled one came with the package.
Does anyone having this issue?
Thanks!

I've noticed this issue myself as well. I noticed a lot of others that don't have the RING app having the issue. For me, the ADT app for my security system was the issue.
Hope this helps others, I forced quit the ADT app and media volume controls are back.

Old thread, but is anyone else having this issue with an S20? Any time I finish a call, all of my media plays through the in-call volume. I don't have a Ring doorbell and I don't think I use any apps that use the microphone. Sometimes clearing open apps works, but I usually have to reboot the phone. SO frustrating!

I've the same issue, however I don't have the ring app
Tillnow, I'm shocked that samsung didn't solve this common problem by software update yet

Hi
have you found a solution to this problem?

@Elgewaili yes I found the solution.
1. A restart solve the problem.
2. Or identify the apps, which are causing this, it must be a calling app. For my case it was Google Duo. I forced stop google duo and it worked. Since then I am avoiding google duo, until good update. So you can try disabling calling apps one by one.

I'm aware this is a old thread, but i'm dealing with the same problem on my s8+.
I've had it only happen once, but i still am kind of puzzled. I had my headphones connected by bluetooth when i couldn't hear the song, so i tried increasing the volume, but it only changed my in call volume, which was odd as i wasn't in a call at the moment. I restarted my phone and it seemed to fix the problem, for now. It has only happend once, and i don't own or at least use any of the apps suggested in this thread that could be causing it.
Any help apprechiated!

So I had found out it was my ADT/ring app open in a background app. If an app that uses your phones audio device for you to talk through is open even if it is just in the background your phone will prioritize your phone speakers as the audio input/output device. I have to completely close those apps so it doesn't think I'm in a call.
