Phone :- Galaxy Note 10+ 5G
Android Version 12 with security patch level 1 March 2022 "Software up to date"
In recent times when I start my car, the car thinks it is on a call .. ie the radio is silent, the car displays a call in progress to the 1st contact. If I look at the phone itself, no call. If I switch off Bluetooth on the phone the call clears and radio resumes. If I switch Bluetooth back on, the phantom call re-appears. If I reset the phone, sometimes it clears the fault and sometimes it comes back. Even if it does clear the fault, the fault eventually recurs usually after a couple drivesor days later. I have just cleared the cache and will see if that helps. Weird fault. Up until this recent issue, I haave had years of no issues.

If I recall correctly I had a similar issue and this fixed it:
Developer Options --> tap 'Turn off A2DP hardware offload'
Hope this helps!

Developer options is not available on my phone [Note 10+5G with current firmware]. . However I have managed to clear Bluetooth Cache and Data and re-pair the devices. The problem has returned.

Hi,
The same is happening with Samsung S24 Ultra both in car use (in cars with Android Auto) and also out of car when using the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro (stays stuck in call mode ringing)

Around 2023 I swapped to an S23 . The problem occurred once, but never again. I suspect an update resolved it… which one, no idea. There were no updates done to the car’s firmware. Perhaps an android auto app update sorted it out… only a guess

This is happening to me, too! On an s24. Restarting the phone seems to work for a while, but it it keeps returning.
Even turning the volume up or down seems to be in call volume.
I am still able to make calls or listen to music (but the functionality of my car radio is basically zero if the Bluetooth is connected).
