how to connect my S pen with my Samsung note 9

I need assistant  I'm having difficulty pairing my S pen to my Samsung Galaxy note 9

Is there any way I can check for the authenticity of the Phone

I would just go back to the store and make them swap it or refund you. 

If the packaging wasn't sealed (please only buy when sealed), check whether the IMEI is on the packaging. This is always stated with a sticker on the packaging. Compare this with the IMEI number on the device. These two numbers must match, otherwise this is not a real Samsung phone or the packaging is incorrect.

Alright thanks. One more problem.. The OS Update isn't visible. can you please tell me where to check ?

From the Home screen, tap the Menu Key > Settings > Software updates > Check for Updates. If your device finds a new software update, tap Download now. When complete, a screen will appear advising you that the new version of software is ready to be installed. Tap Install update.  (there should be one)

what do you suggest I do?

You can also try to install the update with Smart switch on your computer.  

Download smart switch from the samsung website and after installation connect your phone and look for the update (on smartswitch on the PC).  

If that still won't work i would return it.
