Cant set ringtone unless its from zedge

I wanted to use a song I have saved to my phone as my ringtone since I couldn't find it on zedge, but it won't allow me to set the eingtone using anything else and I don't know how to fix this.

Copy to the song to the internal storage and place it in the 'Ringtones' folder
