USB-C headset not recognized for calls

I have a Samsung A41 (with 3.5 headset connector and USB-c connector) and the Samsung EO-IC100 USB-C Earphones.

with a traditionel 3.5-headset everything works fine (meaning music is played through the 3.5-headset as well as audio of phone calls).

but if I use the USB-C headset I hear sound and can use the mic everywhere but NOT during calls. even with the headset pluggen into the USB-c and music playing if a call comes in, the call with use the smartphone mic and speaker (and not the USB headset).

why is that? (I already tried in safe mode, reboot the phone and even factory reset it)

the same behavior happens with my Samsung Galaxy A51 and an older Huawei pfone (both have USB-c connector but also 3.5mm connectors).

when connected to a Galaxy S22 (which doesnt have a 3.5mm connector) the headset works fine during calls as well.

Clean the USB port using dried preferably new tooth brush. Drain battery till 0, let it switch off automatically. Next multiple time try to turn on the phone it will fail due to low battery.

Next charge the battery and turn on the phone. Boom it worked for me.

This mainly happen in high raining area like costal area where moisture gets inside the phone. Dry cities shouldn't have any issues unless you purposefully expose it to water.
