Samsung has depreciated their own messenger app and are now pushing people to go to the stock android one as it's the only way to get RCS. The chat features on the Samsung app use to be done with 3G that has been turned off in a lot of countries and networks making media messaging stop working outside of either RCS or a third party Internet based service like WhatsApp that uses the LTE data setup in 4G and 5G.
