SD card help!

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone can help me. My mom recently updated her phone to the new one ui 7 and now her sd card is undetected by any device whether its a phone or a laptop. Weve tried card readers and data recovery software and they cant read the sd card either. Shes got over 4000 photos on that memory card, can anyone help or suggest anything please?

The update wouldn't be the issue—being that it's not working on any device you've tried. The update physically can't touch the sd card.

Clean the SD card with a cloth and make sure it's clean of debris. Plug it into a laptop using an existing (you may need to try a new reader) and see if it shows. If not, go to Windows, search for disk management—does it show there? If not, I'm not sure there's much you can do beyond hoping there's a backup somewhere- such as samsung cloud, google cloud, one drive etc.

Thankyou for getting back to me. We have tried the windows disk management but it tells us that we do not have access to the sd card and we cant change the permissions on it either. sadly we do not have it backed up anywhere.

i have same problem, i encrypt the sd card and unreadable after update to ui 7. any solving solution pls share... i dont want to format it, because before the update the sd card just fine.

I have a similar problem. My SD card was working perfectly fine before the update. But afterwards, my phone isn't recognising it anymore. When I restart the device, the SD was recognised for a few seconds and then gone. On a PC however, the SD is recognised and working normal. Next to that, the SD card was bought together with my samsung A14, both 2 years old now. So being outdated isn't likely in my opinion. I am now making a backup of the card before taking any other action.
