Screen is locked and in Flight Mode requiring PIN

I bought a SIM free Galaxy A25 5G. When I put in the SIM from my old phone it required me to put in a PIN. I had obviously not set any unlock method at that time, so I did not have a PIN.

I found on several websites that the Samsung default PIN is either 0000 or 1111. I tried these several times unsuccessfully and then had a message that I had used too many PIN attempts.

I wanted to turn the phone off with the power button, but that required a PIN! Similarly with the power button and volume button together.

Now for some reason the phone is locked and in Flight Mode.

How can I get my new phone to work?

New? It sounds used. Are you saying the phone was PIN locked when first purchased? Where did you purchase it from?

Where did you purchase the device from, when you buy a new phone it doesn't come with a pin already set. When you first setup a new device that is when you can set a pin for it if you may wish.

You may need to speak to your phone network provider for support if that occured when you put the SIM in

Contact your sim provider, they should be able to turn your pin off

Is it your sim that has a pin lock (in which case it won't have changed from your previous device) or the device itself?

0000 and 1234 are the default codes. If they aren't working, I would think your "new" device isn't new and wasn't taken back to factory settings before being sent to you.

Where did you get it from?

New phones don't come with a pin lock applied, they are fully unlocked. Your sim might have a pin that you setup on your previous phone but you say that my you didn't. Either the phone is not new or it is network locked so only works with sim cards from the same network, using a sim card from a different network would ask you for a pin to unlock it from the network it is from to allow you to use a different network. Only the network provider the phone is from can give you this. I hope this helps 🙏

It is also possible that it is blacklisted by the network where it might have been reported as lost or stolen, some private sellers do this sort of thing, they sell the phone and then report as lost and get paid by the insurance company too. So where did you buy it from?
