The Samsung Galaxy A55 falls short in delivering a vibrant display experience that users expect from midrange smartphones in 2024. One of its major drawbacks is the washed-out colors and lack of a wider color gamut compared to its competitors.
Display Quality---
The most glaring issue with the Galaxy A55 is its lackluster display. The colors appear muted and washed-out, failing to provide the vividness and richness found in other midrange phones. Whether you're browsing photos, watching videos, or simply navigating the interface, the screen's underwhelming color reproduction detracts from the overall user experience.
Color Accuracy and Gamut---
Unlike its peers in the midrange segment, the Galaxy A55 struggles to reproduce colors accurately and lacks a wider color gamut. This deficiency becomes especially evident when viewing content that demands high color fidelity, such as HDR videos or detailed photographs. The subdued colors make the display feel outdated and unsuitable for multimedia enthusiasts or users who prioritize visual quality.
Brightness and Viewing Experience---
Additionally, the brightness levels of the Galaxy A55's display are subpar, particularly under direct sunlight or bright indoor conditions. This limits outdoor usability and further diminishes the already compromised viewing experience.
In conclusion, while the Samsung Galaxy A55 offers competitive features in other aspects, such as performance and build quality, its display quality leaves much to be desired. Potential buyers should consider alternatives that offer superior color vibrancy and a wider color gamut within the same price range. If display quality is a priority for your smartphone usage, you may find the Galaxy A55's screen performance very disappointing.
For consumers seeking a vibrant and visually engaging display experience, exploring other midrange options might be more rewarding than settling for the compromised visual fidelity of the Galaxy A55.

Galaxy a55 display isn't vibrant. The vividness slider isn't working on a55 . Model name SM -556E/DS. Please Samsung fix this issue and allow users to have more vibrant display as older Samsung devices.

Hi, @Nicholas68. I've merged several separate threads about this matter into one consolidated thread. I'm surprised that your A55's Vividness slider isn't working as expected for you after the recent software update. This is not something I've been able to replicate, so I'd recommend submitting an Error report.
This will allow our software team to have a closer look at this for you. Please click the paperclip icon to include screen recordings and photos of your display as well:
