I have Samsung Galaxy A12 and earlier today a message came up for a software update I clicked remind me later on usually when I do that I can go in and update it, unusually I have gone into find this software update and it says the software is up to date which I can't understand why the software update isn't there anymore?

Do you have auto update using WiFi turned on at all?

If yes then it would have updated automatically.
