Around 30-45 minutes ago I opened my secure folder for the 1st time in a while and was browsing the gallery when my phone completely froze for around 1-2 minutes, then rebooted. Ever since then it keeps doing it even if I'm not using it and haven't even unlocked the phone -  it will be fine for a couple of minutes, then freeze, then reboot. I haven't had an update in a while so unless one happened without my knowledge it's not caused by a recent update. I also haven't backed up my phone in a while so factory resetting the phone to fix this would be a last resort.

If ok in Safe Mode  there would pinpoint recent third party apps which have been installed as sometimes there can be conflicts.

If not the issue you may need to clear the cache partition , this deletes temporary cache files can become outmoded or  corrupted)  but keeps your Data intact .

Follow these steps:

1. Turn off the device.
2.  Connect To Computer ,TV USB or other Device, Press and hold the Volume Up key and then press and hold the Power key
3. When the Android logo displays, release both keys.
4. Wait until the Android system recovery menu options appear.
5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
6. Press Power key to select.
7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

If able can also use the Galaxy Apps Booster from the Good Guardians suite.
