I'm not sure what the number of the update is, but from today's date I would say it happened a month ago. After the update I could no longer voice type without having to search for the microphone. Also, when voice typing, you used to be able to hit the back button and it would erase the whole word. Now you have to do it by the letter.

I am disabled and have to use voice type. I already use a different type of keyboard than Samsung. I use almost everything from Google. I watched several different message boards and they all said to download Gboard. I did this and now the microphone button is on the top again but I still have to backspace by the letter. If I were able to do this easily, I wouldn't be using voice text. I just wanted to get it out there to see if anybody else experienced the same thing as me and what they did about it.

Hi @juljil2006

I would suggest to send this feedback via your Samsung Members App.

In the interim there might be another ³rd party keyboard that might cater to your needs.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

It sounds frustrating that the voice typing and keyboard behavior changed after the recent update on your Samsung device. Here's what you can do to potentially resolve these issues:

1. **Check Keyboard Settings**:
- Go to **Settings** > **General Management** > **Language and input** > **On-screen keyboard**.
- Select **Google Voice Typing** or **Gboard** as your default keyboard if it's not already selected.

2. **Update Gboard**:
- Make sure Gboard is updated to the latest version from the Google Play Store. Updates can include bug fixes and improvements that may resolve issues.

3. **Reset Gboard Settings**:
- Open the **Gboard** app from your app drawer.
- Go to **Settings** > **Voice typing** and ensure all desired settings are enabled.

4. **Clear Gboard Cache**:
- Go to **Settings** > **Apps** > **Gboard** > **Storage & cache** > **Clear cache**.

5. **Restart Your Device**:
- Sometimes, a restart can resolve temporary issues caused by updates.

6. **Contact Samsung Support**:
- If the issue persists after trying these steps, consider reaching out to Samsung Support for further assistance. They may have additional troubleshooting steps or be able to escalate the issue if it's related to the recent update.

By following these steps, you should be able to restore voice typing functionality and improve the keyboard behavior on your Samsung device using Gboard or Google Voice Typing.
