Pinch to Zoom & Links Preview not working On Google Docs Android 14 Samsung Galaxy A05s

Phone = Samsung Galaxy A05s

Software = One UI 6.1, Android 14

Pinch to Zoom works fine everywhere else (chrome etc) except n Google Docs where i am unable to pinch and zoom on the document.  This is helpful to me to see details in pictures or select certain text etc etc. 

Previously on older devices pinch to zoom worked well (and still does).

Also, if a document contains links to other documents or files i have to do a long press on that link to bring up a 'follow link' pop up box.  Previously on older devices a short press work bring up a link preview box to press.

These two issues may be related?

I have cleared Cache on google docs and restarted the phone.  No change.

Please help.

Have you tried double tapping the screen to see if that helps @DazzaDoom

Yes I tried all different types of swipes taps and gestures.

Nothing works.
