Just received this via the EMail correspondence with Samsung and my reply is embedded:

I still don't think you understand how serious this is for people. For whatever reasons, mobile phones are taking over
people's lives. Phones are being used for emergencies (understand that word - what happens if you're in an accident or a
fire and can't use your phone to call emergency services?), medical appointments and records, banking, payments,
socialising, supporting vulnerable people... YOU as a manufacturer and as a provider have promoted this use. You cannot
abjugate your responsibilities and class this as an inconvenience. This is not a new issue - the symptoms have been
reported since the start of the Android software rollout. This is not just a problem that is a couple of days old - you
have had weeks already to resolve this.

> delivering an improved resolution for the issues reported, which are associated with the recent software update.

Good and what is the route for users to report such issues in the future - community forums? Tech teams who don't reply?

Who mentioned repairs apart from you? You singularly seem not to have understood what the problem is and its scope.

Patience? I hope that one of the users doesn't have an emergency where a mobile phone may be used in a life or death
situation. If it does occur, I hope you thank them for their patience.

I still strongly suggest that you all contact this person (please see my previous post) and the BBC to try to get this resolved as soon as possible.

I have been having problems about once a day, when the phone is in lock screen mode. I can't swipe and get the black screen.

I gather factory resets don't work.

Is there anything that does work. Have just missed a phone call because I couldn't swipe to accept it. Awkward with etickets on trains as well.

Phone is still under guarantee and I wonder about trying to get a replacement phone, if there is no easy fix.

(Just wish I could go back in time and not have the update.

No I don't agree. Mine worked perfectly fine before the update - budget or not! I don't need an expensive phone, just one that works which this did ....

It's a known issue for that model version been plenty posts posted on here over the last week regarding screen freezing and blackscreen requiring you to reboot your device all the time.

from my previous post - repeated here:

The EMail contact for the UK CEO of Samsung gets rejected by the posting filter here. So go here https://www.ceoemail.com/s.php?id=ceo-9203

...and also mail the BBC at

youandyours@bbc.co.uk

...it's a consumer programme on Radio 4.

This issue has occurred since the last UI 6.1 update, my unit is an A34 5G variant and ever since the update I've tried everything from resetting the cache partitions on the recovery mode, reset my phone but to no avail. I've researched about this issue and found out that this only happened on phones that have aftermarket screens and that the best option is either to replace the screen (which worked on one user) or to downgrade my phone—but there is the risk of bricking my phone.

A technician told me however that it is best to wait for the next update if I don't want to get pricey on having to use my Samsung again. So I waited. Unfortunately, after the UI 7.0 update nothing changed I still cannot use the touch feature. Btw, I also tried updating the touch firmware (the TSP thing) and have found out that the phone does not recognize the touch firmware of my screen for some reason(either it was deleted in the update or the update it self don't recognize it anymore as it says N/A where it shouldn't be).

Anyways I brought it over to a technician and I was once again faced with the same two options. Now, do I really have to replace the screen or once again, wait for the next update hoping for the issue to be fixed? Or is there any other way to resolve this issue? Thank you in advance for any replies or insights.

Same here! It might be less expensive than some - but its a lot of money to me! And it worked fine until this 'upgrade'.
