Hello, i updated my phone today which gave me the One UI 7 and i honestly hate it. Ive been looking at these forums and managed to make it alittle bareable but im still having some personal issue.

  • Is there anyway to change the app icons such as settings and calculator back to how they looked previously. I honestly hate it
  • Anyway to change the animations back to the previous ones.
I really doubt i can undo the update but if i can please let me know.

You cannot undo the update, but almost everything is able to be changed. Look in the Samsung app store for themes and you may be able to find icons that look like the old ones, although I haven't looked into that much because I find it easier just to get used to the changes.
Which animations are you referring to?

Refering to animations such as notifications appearing on the top of the screen, moving between apps etc.

If by notifications you mean that it comes up as a detailed notification, you can change that in settings.
I agree with you about the app drawer.
But as I said before, some of these things you are just going to have to get used to sadly.1751810964913.jpg

Thanks for your help. I understand UI updates for better security. Thats what they said i think. But i dont understand the insistent need to change everything. Especially if theres no way to go back. If there was a greater warning i wouldnt have updated my phone. Also i miss my battery icon anyway to get that back?

I actually prefer some of the changes, they obviously did a little bit of market research before changing things, but they could have been more considerate of users who prefer the old look that they're used to.
And no, the battery icon is one of the things that can't be changed back. 😔

Samsung is doing it's best to drive it's users away. What was a decent format into a hideous new layout that is worse than what iphones have. 😂😂

On certain aspects I agree. But on others, I strongly disagree. It all boils down to personal taste and adaptability.

Samsung may be focusing on younger people who are more open to change who enjoy the new update more than older people who more often just want to have what they're used too without changing around things.
(This is just an example and in no way am I trying to forget anyone else who may not appreciate the design changes)

It seems that now you must swipe down, then across, to get to sound on/vibrate /silent. Is there a way to only swipe once, like it used to be?
