clearing defaults option galaxy a55 ??

hello,

i can't get an email file to open with with pdf viewer, it tries to open with chrome instead.

googling suggests i need to change default app for opening pdf files by the "clearing defaults" option,

i can't find any "clear defaults: option on the galaxy a55 after following guides/videos.

any help/suggestions please?

@crb56: If you have downloaded a file attachment from an email, then please swipe up from your Home screen > Tap on the Samsung folder > My Files > Download > Press and hold on the file > More > Open with > Choose from the available options > Select 'Always'. 

Alternatively, please head to Settings > Apps > Tap the 3 dots in the top right > Reset app preferences, although please be aware that this will remove any personalised settings from all applications.

....it seems this hasn't worked unfortunately....
trying to open digital letter from email go's to edocsportal.com in chrome,
i've tried both the options given now and its still doing this....
once upon a time it opened with a pdf viewer and downloaded/saved to my files/documents for future viewing but not doing this anymore.

@crb56: Are you accessing your emails via an app, or a browser? If you're using an app, please can you verify which one you're using? In the meantime, as a workaround, download the PDF file rather than opening it via the email, and you can use the steps provided in my original response to open the file in your preferred PDF viewer.

I'm using the samsung email app....
i'm trying to open/download a doctors letter from email,
when i press the letter link it opens edocsportal.com in chrome and a get this error....

an error occurred when accessing the service.
The underlying connection was closed: could not establish trust relatiinship dor the SSL/TLS secure channel.

i've no idea whats happened or what ive done to cause this, before i used to get an open with option then it would download the letter to files/downloads and documents.

Open file from my files it might suggest to open from one drive
