Hi,
If your Samsung phone is not receiving text messages, there are several potential causes and troubleshooting steps to consider. Common issues include network problems, problems with the SIM card, incorrect message center number settings, blocked contacts, or problems with the messaging app itself.

Troubleshooting Steps:

Check your network connection: Ensure you have a strong cellular signal and that airplane mode is turned off.

Restart your phone: A simple restart can resolve temporary glitches.

Check your SIM card: Make sure it's properly inserted and assigned to the messaging app. You can also try inserting it into another phone to see if it works.

Clear the messaging app's cache: Go to Settings > Apps > Messages > Storage and select "Clear cache".

Reset network settings: Go to Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset network settings.

Check for blocked contacts: Verify that the sender's number isn't blocked in your messaging app.

Update your messaging app: Make sure you have the latest version of the app installed.

Disable power-saving mode: Power-saving mode can sometimes restrict background processes, including message reception.

Check for software updates: Ensure your phone's software is up to date.

Contact your carrier: If the problem persists, contact your mobile service provider to check for any network issues or potential configuration problems

Hi @shacon  Welcome to the Samsung Community :smiling-face:

is the the mobile signal fine?

Assuming that that there are no issues with your Network and that Mobile Data is enabled. check that your preferred sim is assigned to Messages, Settings-Connections-Sim card Manager. check that Text or chat is set as prefered option. , Settings - Chat Settings -Select Default Messaging Type, and set this to 'Text or Multimedia Messages'. If you go to Messages- Menu(3 dots)-Settings-More Settings-Text Messages check that a number is poulated in the Message Centre Section. If not you would need to contact your Network.  Have you tried resetting The Network Connections as mentioned.

otherwise try a soft Reset, hold the volume Down and  Power Button for around 10 seconds until the Device Reboots, check for any updates.  you may need to clear the Messages cache,Settings-Apps-Messages-Storage-clear cache. You may need to reinset/try different sim .

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.
