Hi, try Settings > Apps > Tap the 3 dots in the top right > Reset app preferences.

Maybe try. Settings- apps- My files- storage- clear cache.
In there
Or/ and go to. Settings- the app(what ever Microsoft app you selected)- storage- clear cache.
Last ditch effort- just uninstall what preferences you set it as- let's say it was Microsoft 365. Uninstall it and just redownload
However. Going to settings- apps- reset app preferences should restart *imagine I've included- which includs my files application. Try also restarting your device? Lemme know how you get on
