Letter on side of contact has disappeared Samsung A51

I had updated my dad's Samsung A51 and since then have been told off by my dad where are the letters on the side of the contacts. Now, he uses this bar to find is contacts, english is his second language, so trying to tell him it's out of my control, he can't comprehend.

So what was the purpose of removing this feature? For him to keep his finger and scroll can't happen, he gets the trembling in the hands and just can't do it. 

Any chance this letters comeback on the side? 

PS Ihave also noticed this has disappeared on my Samsung S21 too.

The feature is still on my phone on the latest update @Samibou 

I open up my contacts app and on the rh side and scroll until a bar shows with dots along it. 

Then while holding down and slide your finger down should bring this up.
