This morning's ui8 update has left me without a phone as now the Sim is no longer detected.

after trying all the online suggestions (including multiple mobile setting resets) I tried a factory reset. However, this also downloaded ui8 , so that didn't work either.

I've just noticed the GPS reception is also non functioning.

I have raised an error report and received an acknowledgement.

I seen a few other's with the same problem.

I've got the exact same issue and went into my service providers store and got a new SIM card through them and that still wasn't recognised so unless Samsung sort it I don't think it'll be working

Ok thanks, I'll let you know if there's any joy with an O2 SIM when I get it.

I wish I'd listened to that little voice this morning when it said maybe this wasn't a good time to be dicking about with phone updates...

That would be great! Funny that when it first appeared on my phone I thought I ain't messing with it now and then finally did it last night and again wish I never bothered!

Exactly the same problem here with SM-A536U1/DS, french SIM card.

After update, SIM card not seen at all. This is a software problem, the repair shop tried to replace the sim reader board but this did not solve the problem. Somebody succesfully reverted to ONE UI 7 using ODIN (https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/A-Series-Other-Mobile/Pb-Update-SIM-card-no-longer-recognized-an...) and the phone is working again. This is a software bug !

AndyW16,

Thank you for your info.  I was hoping for such a reply as everything seems to be working just fine.

Thanks again

My Samsung A53 5g did an update last night and I now have no network coverage and it's saying no SIM is detected? I've tried all the usual measures to try get it connected again. Restarted phone, toggled aeroplane mode on and off, take some out and back in a couple of times and left phone off. I haven't even got the option of mobile network on my settings screen anymore, it's dropped off. What is going on Samsung. Must be a glitch with update.
