I've had so many issues since this update, battery drain is epic, 10% drain in 20 minutes, also icons/fonts smaller and notifications not showing for WhatsApp.

And earlier this evening, apps kept opening then just crashing and shutting, please fix this or I may consider consumer rights action due to unfit for purpose now.

And........Thats to start with, I think Samsung have really dropped the ball on this one, Samsung if you're listening, please rollback.

What is it with 7 and samsung note 7 worst phone they made and was literally explosive but not the way they would of wanted. Now this update is literally worst UI they have developed anyone would think they pushing people to buy a new phone as this makes there current phone virtually useless 😒 Well done samsung curse of 7 strikes again🔥

That's only if you believe the "hype". Every update gets it's fair share of hates and Samsung are expectedly going to get this. If you actually took a factor of users who have no issues or find it great, you'll probably see a whole different story. Also bare in mind the sheer number of bots today and how exaggerated some of the smallest details are purportedly harming their quality of life, just from a phone...

Yes true I know there is alot of hype but I also say why launch beta testing on one ui 8 already if 7 isn't causing headaches for samsung? It reminds me of how Microsoft constantly made bad operating systems one release then fixed that with the following. Windows ME fixed by Windows XP for example. An operating system so revered it stayed way longer than intended. It seems to me people with older phones s22 to s24 for example are having more issues than those on s25. Coincidence? Or a way to convince them to upgrade before they want to. Samsung and all other manufacturers are well known to use updates to make there phones worse over time. That's how they guarantee we all buy the newest models even before the software updates stop for the model we have. No corporation is whiter than white. They all about profit over everything else especially in the tech space. But that's how they get us to buy there products when prices have gone through the roof and not many replace there phones every 12 months like we did 20 years ago. We live in a world of instant satisfaction and familiarity the moment the companies change these things for the 'greater good' its mostly for the greater good of there bottom line.

Because before OneUI 7 launched, Samsung were getting even more hype about how terribly "behind" they were for not releasing Android 15 sooner. Google have already pushed their Android 16 build out for beta testing and you can already see people starting that same hype train of Samsung falling behind. It's a vicious cycle where you can't please everyone.

Honestly I've said it before, Google are simply grandstanding and Samsung (being the largest distributor of Google's OS) take the flak for Google's incessant need for bigger OS numbers. It's a marketing strategy for Google to be seen as better "value" by being ahead in OS builds.

Also I'm running both an S21 Ultra and Tab S8 Ultra on OneUI 7. I've not encountered any major bugs yet, but if you believe the hype surrounding it from users(?) on these forums, you'd be convinced the release was the beginning of Armageddon.

Well yeah Google isn't innocent in this of course but what you expect for a company that's mostly owned and operated by the NSA?😂 They need to know everything on everyone constantly big brother on steroids under the guise of one of the world's biggest tech firms. And samsung having such a close relationship people expect them to be running at same speed alongside them. Yeah you can't please everyone humans are awkward to please and make errors all the time this happens to everything we make from software to hardware something we can't stop doing unless you let AI do it all. Then we are all doomed! Because then tech will truly control us 😂

I think AI can work, but not in the current form. Don't get me wrong, I actually do like Google's general vision, Gemini for example I think is a great step towards a "better" AI in today's standards. But it has a long way to go to be a perfect model, something an LLM cannot achieve in my opinion.

Oh at current progress it will perfect itself as it learns from us and how illogical we are as are species how impulsive we are. And how we can do with a few corrections in our behaviour. Making suggestions on shopping today and making you do things tomorrow through use of automated systems based on its own version how humans should be for optimal behaviour. Sounds outrageous but it could happen and when it does make sure you can pull the plug on it.

It will perfect itself but the fundamental system will never be able to simulate true sentient thought, much like we as humans imagine AI.

What I mean is, if our goal were to recreate an artificial human, Gemini's approach is impossible to simulate that, no matter how perfectly refined it becomes.

Maybe not yet or tomorrow but with quantum computers on the rise and human innovation being what it is I wouldn't rule it out. Look how far we have come in just the past 40 years? And things are speeding up. Whoever develops a true neural net that can emulate the human brain that's when we should be worried on what AI will be truly capable of. I think AI is just getting put about as the latest buzz tech what one person sees as exciting another worries about there jobs and ultimately possible future

That's just it, we don't understand our fundamental functioning of our own minds, much less be able to craft a system capable of simulating it. Quantum computing power is useless without understanding of a model capable of recreating our basic thought. It's an impossibility at this point and likely for a foreseeable future.
