There seems to be several reports of a23 gard bricked after the update to may update
Is this individual cases?
I can't afford to have my phone bricked

Please don't update and if you already have, do not restart or power off your phone or that'll be the end of it. At least for the foreseeable future.
It won't hurt you to wait a few more weeks while you conduct further research. Check Youtube, Reddit or plain ole Google.
I'm from Barbados and everyone that updated their A23 in May and turned it off is now without a phone. Everyone. Every A23. Imagine that.

was your update through OTA? did you have an unlocked bootloader or anything similar of complete stock?

Is this happening to the whole A series or just the A23s? Because my A13 just got the update(i havent installed it yet) and my home screen is stuck so i do need to restart it however im afraid if i do it will crash. Please help

Personally i didn't even get a may update, o just checked and for my region (egypt) larest update is February, so either those reports are from people who forced updated the wrong patch, or samsung noticed and sisnt release it to other regions.

My phone was completely stock. No modifications whatsoever. Even still have on the protective film it came with. 😢
