Recently my wife's Samsung A40 has developed an issue with the phone app keyboard and the number buttons being non operating.
There is no issue dialing any number, the key pad works, however when the call is active and I want to 'press one' for example to reach an in call menu there is no response. All numbers and * & # are also non functioning.
First thought maybe it was tge screen protector but same issue after removing protector.
Force stopped phone app and also rebooted without any improvement.
Any suggestions for a solution?
Do I uninstall the phone app and reinstall?
If I do this will this cause any issue with the mobile?
Or is it time for a new mobile?
Any comments welcome.....thanks

Hi, try clearing the phone apps cache
Settings >apps. Scroll to 'Phone' and tap on it. Tap Storage. Tap Clear data and Clear cache.
Check also you haven't got 'Interaction control' activated
Settings >Accessibility >Interaction and dexterity > Interaction control

Was a step ahead of your post and did this......didn't work at first but an hour later the issue resolved itself - very odd

I'm glad it's sorted. If it happens again, then try wiping the phones cache partition.

To check, you have the latest version of the phone app, then tap on the phone icon, tap the 3 dots top rh corner. Tap settings. Tap About phone. If there's an update available then it will update automatically.
