How do i assign different notification sounds for different apps on my galaxy a52?

On my previous phones I have been able to have different sounds for text messages, life 360 alerts, messenger and many other apps. I have not been able to figure out how to do that on the  Galaxy A52. Right now every notification has the same sound and it's making me crazy. Please help.

I can go in and change the sounds in the app settings,  but the phone defaults to the sound chosen in the notification settings.

If you haven't sorted it yet .I had the same problem. you have to go into the 3 dots on  each app to access settings and you can add different notification sounds .I hope this helps if you are still having a problem.tony walker
